SE Design and Consulting Inc. is a full-service civil and municipal engineering firm with offices in Cold Lake and Edmonton, Alberta.
Our team is composed of experienced engineers, technologists, technicians and project managers who work together efficiently to provide high-quality and innovative services from project inception to completion.
Our Story
Over the past 19 years, SE Design and Consulting Inc. has grown from a small operation of 2 employees to a well-respected firm with 18 full-time employees, as well as a branch based in Edmonton. Our company was founded by Steve Engman, P.L (Eng), P.Tech(Eng), with the vision of bettering Alberta communities through his work and experience.
With our roots firmly planted in the Lakeland Region, we understand the unique challenges and opportunities facing Alberta, and we are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality engineering solutions.
Our well-trained and dedicated engineers and technicians have been a part of many major civil construction projects across Alberta, including municipal rehabilitation, subdivisions, and development.

Corporate Manager
Steve Engman is the principal of SE Design and Consulting Inc. and functions as the Corporate Manager of the firm.
Chris Brooks
Chris Brooks C.E.T.
Operations Manager
Chris Brooks is an outdoorsman at heart and a people person by trade. A Certified Engineering Technologist who graduated from NAIT's Civil Engineering Co-op program in 2000, Chris has been surveying and working in the engineering industry for over two decades. He started his career as a surveyor with AMEC Infrastructure and has since become an integral member of the SE Design and Consulting team.
Bruce Drake
BRUCE DRAKE P.ENG, ALS, P. SURV
Geomatics Manager/President of SEDA Geomatics
Bruce Drake has been surveying since he was a child, and his passion for problem-solving and the outdoors led him to his role as the president of SEDA Geomatics Inc. He loves to teach and believes in doing things right the first time. As a past president of the ALSA (Alberta Land Surveyors Association), and having just gained his 25 year pin, his expertise and knowledge of the Survey profession as well as the area, makes him an invaluable member to any project's needs.
His certifications include an Engineering degree in Surveying, an Advanced UAV Pilot certification, as well as being a registered Alberta Land Surveyor. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing poker, and riding his motorcycle.

We are committed to supporting local organizations and initiatives that make a difference in the lives of the people in our region. In line with this commitment, we donate our time and resources to provide survey and drafting services to Mudfest, Hearts for Healthcare, and Feast on the Beach during the planning stages to help community events.
