SE Design has a career opportunity for a Civil Technologist in Edmonton, Alberta.
Position Description:
• We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience providing field inspection and survey services, drafting and design for civil engineering works associated with municipal transportation and infrastructure projects.
• The position will involve out of town work at rural locations throughout northeastern Alberta.
Position Duties:
Field Inspection and Survey:
• Provide field inspection for the construction of civil engineering works (earthworks grading, underground utilities, and surface improvements) associated with municipal transportation and infrastructure projects according to contract plans and specifications.
• Carry out aspects of construction surveys including preliminary topographic surveys, record plan surveys, utility staking, road and underground construction staking.
• Review and interpret design plans and specifications for construction projects.
• Field measurements and calculations pertaining to alignments, grades, quantities, etc.
• Quality Assurance / Control tasks for construction projects. Perform general office, data management and survey administrative duties.
Engineering Design Support
• Engineering design and drafting support using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Previous experience with engineering design and drafting would be an asset but not required.
• Complete quantity takeoffs, assist with the development of specifications and preparation of tender documents for municipal transportation and infrastructure projects.
