Position Description:

• We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience providing field inspection and survey services for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• The position is a project-based Contract position will involve out of town work at rural locations throughout northeastern Alberta and will include long hours/weekend work.

Position Duties:

Field Inspection and Survey:
• Provide field inspection for the construction of civil engineering works (earthworks grading, drainage, and roadworks) for transportation and infrastructure projects according to contract plans and specifications.
• Carry out aspects of construction surveys including preliminary topographic surveys, record plan surveys, utility staking, road and underground construction staking.
• Review and interpret design plans and specifications for construction projects. Ensure that the contractor adheres to all contract requirements.
• Field measurements and calculations pertaining to alignments, grades, quantities, etc.
• Maintain detailed daily diaries of contractor’s work, contract progress and inspection requirements.
• Quality assurance tasks for construction projects including coordination and monitoring of the material testing/quality control program.
